CONTEST RULES
• The contest has two phases: ELIMINATIONS and FINALS

ELIMINATIONS
• For both categories, eliminations shall be held as an online contest and as such, you only need to submit your entry/entries through the following link:

Only entries submitted through the button above will be judged. Works that will be sent to our Facebook account or any other medium will not be considered as contest entries.
• For both categories, the contests have no themes to adhere to, rather a set of genres to be followed:

FINALS
​
• For both categories, finalists shall be announced on February 7 and contest finals shall be held as a multi-stage writing contest between February 8 and 10 of this year.
​
• At most, ten contestants may be qualified to join the finals for each category.
• Contest rules and mechanics shall be given on the actual date of the contest. Therefore, it is advisable for all finalists to prepare themselves for the finals and to be available on February 8, 9, or 10.
• Works must be original.
CRITERIA FOR JUDGING
• Content - 30%
The essence of the entry, the idea. How good the message is and how new and eye-catching the concept is.
• Creativity - 30%
The execution of the content and how it was delivered.
• Technicalities - 20%
How clean your work is in terms of grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. We will, of course, take poetic license into account but will not validate every error.
• Adherence to Theme/originality - 20%
How closely connected the entry is to the contest theme and how uniquely it was approached compared to the other entries.

Romance and Philosophy are the main genres that have to be present in the entry, and it is up to you to select what secondary genres you'd want to incorporate into your work.
• The more creative and successful you are with your approach, the greater your chances of winning.
• For both categories, this contest is open to the entire PLM student body, masters, undergraduates, and senior high students.
• For the short story category, there is a 6,000-word limit. For the poem category, there is no limit on the number of stanzas, lines, etc., but there is a 750-word limit.
• Submissions may be in English or Filipino.
• Only one entry per contestant in each category. However, a single participant may submit one entry to both categories and may win at both prose and poetry writing.
• Contestants are not allowed to post works that they've already written prior to the announcement of this contest.

•The elimination phase for both categories will run from January 15 to February 3, 2018.

CONTEST RULES

ELIMINATIONS
• These are the categories of the quiz bee.
​

• The time scope for all categories shall be: (1) established classics and (2) 21st century releases. In addition, the television series category shall not include Filipino prime time dramas.
• Prepare a group of four PLMayers, comprising of a team competent in: Movies, Television Series, Books, and Music.
​
• Each group shall take a written examination on Movies, Television Series, Books, and Music. The group with the highest overall score shall be qualified to join the finals.
​
• Eliminations shall be held in PLM Shed 13 between February 5 -10 (Monday - Saturday).

FINALS
​
• Finals shall be held on February 10 (Saturday) of this year. All finalist must be available on said date to participate in the Finals of the event.
​
• Letters shall be provided to the parents of the finalists who shall qualify for the event. However, it is strongly advised that all contestants who wish to participate notify their parents of the finals date in advance.
​
• The first five groups with the highest scores during the elimination phase examination may be qualified to join the finals.
​
• The contest shall be held in a traditional quiz bee setting, with questions prepared in all forms of media, from words to video clips. Remember to prepare yourself on all four categories, the questions won't be easy.
• The contest prize shall be divided equally among the winning teams.
